Gilles Martin Doucet

Date of Death: Sep 13, 2026

Location: Petit-Rocher Nord

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gilles Martin Doucet of Petit-Rocher Nord, on September 13, 2026, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, at the age of 62.

Gilles was the son of the late Arnold Doucet and Violette (Guitard) Doucet.

He was predeceased by his father Arnold Doucet, his brother Robert Doucet and his sister-in-law Marie Doucet.

He leaves to mourn his great love, the mother of his children, Denise Haché; his daughter Danielle (Chris) and his son David; as well as his grandsons Mikael and William, of whom he was so proud; his sisters Joanne (Malcolm) Russell and Julie of Pointe-Verte; and his brothers Donald of Pointe-Verte, Daniel (late Marie) and his partner Audrey Babineau, Jean-Guy (Julie), Sylvain (Sylvie) and Claude (Nathalie); as well as several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and his longtime friends.

Gilles was, above all, a great giver. He always had something to offer—his time, his help, his stories, but most of all, himself. He was always smiling, playful and a person who brought people together. He knew how to make people feel at ease and create memories around him. He loved the simple pleasures of life: the sea, nature and gardening. But if there was one passion that could hardly go unnoticed, it was hockey and his desire to see the Canadiens win the Stanley Cup.

His battle is now over. He leaves us with heavy hearts, but also filled with gratitude for all the beautiful moments we had the chance to share with him.

Rest in peace. Your smile, your big heart and your love will remain forever engraved in our memories.

The family wishes to thank the palliative care team at Chaleur Regional Hospital, particularly Daniel and Holly.

As per Gilles’ wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home and no funeral service. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

His care has been entrusted to The Bay Funeral Home of Beresford, N.B.
